The New York Times columnist David Brooks spoke about the Republican Party’s move to the right on April 21, 2013 with PBS’s Jeff Greenfield. To Brooks, it really comes down to which party is solving the problems for those struggling in the middle and lower class: “If you’re not offering anything to a 24-year-old mom making $25,000 dollars a year as a waitress…you’re not solving the essential problem of the country. And the Republican Party really isn’t offering much of that.”
